About the 970 Sun Devils
~ Founded in 2019 ~
The 970 SunDevils Baseball Club is a Northern Colorado high school baseball organization that provides the local athletes the chance to develop the necessary skills and attributes to move on to the next level.
The program will focus on placing players in age and skill appropriate competition to maximize their individual development while working within a team environment.
The program’s goal will be to keep local players together to train and become successful baseball players that have a chance to play in college, while maintaining obligations to the community.

Danny
Jurado
Danny has been coaching since 2013 when he was part of a Windsor 12U team. During the 14U season with said team, he was also a part of a 10U team in the Windsor area. He followed a majority of these players all the way up through high school. He has been a part of the Severance High School coaching staff since their inaugural year in 2020, when the club was founded!

Jurado
Josh has been coaching since 2013 when he too was part of a Windsor 12U team. During the 14U season with said team, he was also a part of a 10U team in the Windsor area. He has been a part of the Severance High School coaching staff since their inaugural year in 2020, when the club was founded!
Josh played college baseball at Colby Community college where he pitched and works along side our other pitching coaches on staff.

Baeckel
Brandon is new to our staff this year. He has spent time at Broomfield High School, as part of their 2022 5A state championship team. He is no stranger to winning as he also won state in 2010 as a player for Mountain View High School. Played at Northeastern Junior College and Nebraska-Kerney.
Arnoldo
Maltos-Garcia
Arnoldo joined the staff in 2022. He was able to be part of his youngest brother's last high school summer of baseball. Family is huge with our club so, being able to have him join our staff was great! He helped the 2022 class with various tips and advice. He played at Western Nebraska Community College and went on to Clarke University. Like Arturo, he also lives in Brush and makes an effort to attend as much as he can.

Maltos-Garcia
Arturo joined our staff during the summer of 2021. He brought his youngest brother to our club (Jando, 2022 Grad.) He has been instrumental working with our players, bringing a wealth of knowledge not only from his college days at Lamar Community College. But also from his time with the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants, farm system! He does his best to work with players, as he resides in Brush.
Greg came onboard in the summer of 2022. He has coached in the area for years. He spent time with Roosevelt, Northridge, and Severance High Schools. He handles the bulk of the pitching, but brings plenty of valuable experience from his time in Arizona where he attended Glendale Community College for pitching as well as Colby.
